Week 5

Oh nooooo, week 4 didn't happen.
So remember last time when I was rather excited about getting a job opportunity?
...Let's just say that things turned rather sour, rather quickly. The time management went completely all over the place and I was unable to keep up with half of my schoolwork.
So umm, that was bad.

The main thing I ended up focusing on this week was the InDesign project with the essay. It really seems like all of my classes are suddenly demanding Adobe products at around the same time. Which I can't tell is helpful, weird, planned, or taking money from my pocket. I'm not fully satisfied with the final product...it's a bit bland as it is and doesn't really pop out or anything. But as it stands I don't have the time to make it super duper fancy, which is unfortunate. It is what it is, at the very least I'm glad I was able to understand the basics of how the program works, which is important at the very least.

As for the rest of the week. ...Well school has to come first so I ended up quitting the job. There's a little bit of a problem when you're enrolled fulltime at school, ask for part time hours at the job, and then get assigned 40 hours a week.
That's not exactly right. And as it stands, I wouldn't be able to keep up with all the schoolwork otherwise, so it had to go. But now that it's gone and out of the way, I can actually do the rest of my class work with (hopefully) little to no problem.

Week 3

You know what's exciting? After months of trying to get a job with no one getting back to you, someone finally gets back to you and you are employed. It might not be the most preferable choice, but sometimes you have to take what you can get.

As for this week, it was fully focused on the essay, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I'm a tad worried because I didn't really use any sources, mostly because the topic I chose was something I just know things about and have known about for a long time now, meaning I didn't really need to go out and find sources. On the plus side however, was because I was able to choose the topic, writing it was easy and I went on a bit longer than I was planning to, but I guess I just had a lot to say.

This week has pretty much calmed down. I have a little bit of work in my other classes, but that's just about it. Monday is when things start getting hectic, given training starts for the job I got, meaning I have to reschedule my entire process for getting schoolwork done. So either things are going to go really well, or stuff is going to end up falling behind. ...Let's hope it's the former.

Week 2

Hello everyone! It's been a bit of a slow week on my end, not a whole lot exciting happening. I had a few job interviews which is a nice change of pace, but right now I'm in the process of waiting to hear back from them in one fashion or another, so that's just something slow on the side.

The main topic of this week had to do with punctuation, which is something that's been covered a lot since middle school, so a good deal of it wasn't all that new to me. Going over the semicolon again is always helpful. While it's something I've been over many times, it's also something that I forget constantly, so a reminder every now and then doesn't do anyone harm.

However, what I didn't realize until now was the differences between hyphens and dashes. To be completely honest, I figured they were just two different words meaning the same thing, given how similar the two look to one another. But no, hyphens are used to join words together while dashes are meant to be used parenthetical statements. So that definitely was something new I learned on the punctuation side of things.

As for the rest of this week, I'll probably start the five paragraph essay due next week in the next few days, but besides that it's really just getting the work done for my other classes as well. Nothing to really write home about or anything. Just an average week of getting all the work done.
